Eric March

Eric March is a painter and draftsman whose work explores the formal possibilities of realism with themes of urban life, urban environments, and personal narrative-often through the lens of Coney Island, one of his favorite subjects. Eric grew up in northern Illinois and earned his BFA at Indiana University. He continued his studies in New York City with Andrew Reiss and at the Art Students League before launching his career with a solo show in 2006.

Eric has exhibited his work in New York and Connecticut, including solo shows in Brooklyn, Queens, and New Haven, CT. Honors include the Queens Council on the Arts Individual Artist Grant, the Provincetown Dune Shack Residency, and the Hudson River Fellowship. Eric taught painting and drawing at the National Academy School from 2011-2017 and served as the Department Head of the Painting and Drawing Department in 2014-15. He currently teaches at the Art Students League, 92nd Street Y, the Creative Arts Workshop and privately in his studio in New Haven.
