Rod Jovanelly

Back in kindergarten, Rod Jovanelly had an instamatic camera that he took everywhere he went. His desire was to capture everything he saw. However, upon receiving the prints from the lab, he was always disappointed with the outcome as it never seemed to match up to what he had originally envisioned. Consequently, he made it his mission to learn how to make his camera see exactly what his eyes saw, and to create the images he imagined, dreamed, and loved. Eventually, he saved up enough money to purchase his first 35mm SLR camera during the 10th grade, and he started processing his own film and printing his own photographs in his basement. Though he was still not satisfied with the results, he kept on learning, obtaining a B.F.A from the University of Bridgeport and attending numerous seminars and classes over the years. Luckily, he was able to turn his passion for photography into a profession over three decades ago, and he has never ceased learning and creating.
