COVID-19 Related Testing Costs:

The federal government has recently ended all funding for COVID-19 testing. This change impacts all testing providers and health systems in the State of Connecticut and throughout the US.

While Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center will continue to NOT charge for collection of COVID-19 specimens, the actual testing is done by the Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH) lab. With the change in federal funding, the YNHH lab will now charge patients for any COVID tests performed that are not covered by insurance.

If you have insurance: Depending on your insurance policy and benefit plan, you may be responsible for some portion of your testing costs (such as a deductible, co-pay or co-insurance). If your insurance company denies coverage for your COVID-19 test, you will receive a bill for testing from YNHH. Please contact your insurance carrier with any questions regarding your policy and the cost of a test.

If you do NOT have insurance: If you are an uninsured patient, YNHH will bill you $75 for testing.

Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center staff at our testing sites are happy to assist you, but we are not able to answer questions about YNHH lab charges or insurance policy benefits.
