Margaret Pinto With A DAISY AWARD

September 16, 2026 (New Haven, CT) – Margaret Pinto, RN LMT of Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center (CS-HHC) was awarded The DAISY Award® For Extraordinary Nurses on Wednesday, September 16th, at a ceremony held at Haven Court located at CS-HHC’s 428 Columbus Avenue care site. The CS-HHC nursing staff, leadership team, and many more attended the ceremony to celebrate Margaret and to recognize the vital role nurses fill in ensuring the health of our communities. As a central part of the DAISY Foundation, the DAISY award recognizes and celebrates the super-human efforts that nurses perform every day

For nearly 20 years, Margaret Pinto has embodied clinical excellence and compassionate care with an unwavering commitment to the health and wellbeing of her patients every day. She brings a healing spirit of service to every appointment, every interaction, and to every colleague and patient she meets, exemplifying the qualities celebrated by the DAISY Award.



“I’m so honored to receive the first Daisy Award at Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center and I’m so grateful to be a part of an organization that cares so much for our community,” Margaret said. “I want to thank the amazing team of nurses who I work with every day who have become more than just my colleagues. They’ve become my family.”

Margaret now joins over 210,000 nurses across more than 8,000 organizations and schools worldwide who have also received the DAISY Award out of over 3 million nominees.



“As nurses at Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center, we believe that it’s important to recognize and nominate our nurses for the extraordinary work they’re doing,” noted Andrea Murrell, CS-HHC Director of Nursing. "

“We took this opportunity to recognize Margaret Pinto the incredible work she is doing and to honor her service to our patients and our community. We’re also now joining this phenomenal foundation that has been recognizing nurses for almost 30 years as one of the first FQHCs in Connecticut to present a DAISY Award to one of our nurses. We look forward to our partnership with the DAISY Foundation and we are honored to join that group of amazing nurses.”

The award was made possible through the CSHHC Foundation’s Mini Grant Program that continues to fund programs such as The DAISY Awards and other programs that support CS-HHC patients and employees. Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center is the first unaffiliated Federally Qualified Health Center in Connecticut to join the DAISY Foundation, ensuring that nurses committed to the Community Health Center movement receive the same kind of recognition as they would at larger academic medical centers.

This award is testament to the mission and vision of Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center - to deliver compassionate, comprehensive care to all while also ensuring that nurses and providers are recognized for their service, given a healthy work-life balance, and that they are fulfilled in the work they do on a daily basis.
