Kai S. Perry, CS-HHC Director of Clinic Operations, Selected to Participate in CFGNH’s “Nonprofit Management Cohort: A Program for Emerging Leaders of Color"

The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven (CFGNH) has awarded Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center (CS-HHC) a two-year, $20,000 grant. It will support participation of Kai S. Perry, CS-HHC Director of Clinic Operations, in CFGNH’s “Nonprofit Management Cohort: A Program for Emerging Leaders of Color,” a leadership development initiative of the CFGNH and the University of Connecticut School of Public Policy.


The funding will enable Kai to: 


  • Participate in CFGNH’s Emerging Leaders of Color program 
  • Serve as CS-HHC’s Organization Lead for the program 
  • Administer the Core Capacity Assessment Tool (CCAT) to CS-HHC’s Board and senior staff representatives 
  • Help CS-HHC implement changes based on CCAT’s findings 
  • Earn a Certificate of Completion from the University of Connecticut 


Kai, who has been with CS-HHC since December, 2021, is a change agent, motivator, and champion for the underserved, both in her CS-HHC role and personal commitments to the greater community. She previously served as Senior Operations Manager for Community Health Center for ten years. 


With a commitment to lifelong learning, Kai participated in the 2023 Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce’s Executive Orientation (XO) program and the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven’s Emerging Leaders of Color: Nonprofit Management Program. She also participated in the Community Health Center Association of Connecticut’s (CHCACT) Prescription for Leading Yourself and Others leadership development cohort for mid-level managers. 


Kai serves as a Board member and tutor for Literacy Volunteers of Greater New Haven. She is also a member of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, the Greater New Haven NAACP serving on the Freedom Fund and Health Care Committees, Collaboration of Minority Women Professionals, and the GNHCC.
